I was normally would hate things about hiking. I just didn’t know why I hate hiking. The only that I imagined out was how about the climbing, and things made I was overthinking of.

I’m acrophobia, but just half of it and don’t too critical. I still can on a plane and go to the mall or hotel. But, I suppose not to see the bottom, because it will make me too panicked. So, I have to see the middle or on the top. That was why I had an overthinking something about hiking invitation. I didn’t think it was cool and something fears my life if I decide to go. It would be haunting, as I don’t fear the ghost, but the hiking, though.

Since I fear hiking, I ought to watch some videos on Youtube when I got any information about the location, at Gunung Purba. Watching how to climb and process and also searched about Gunung Purba. It seemed interesting and I felt I had to try for once, at least it must happens in my life. I need the newest that I haven’t been doing. Actually yet the last I hiked was 300 feet at Pacitan, but I forgot what name was (Ledok Ngetrip, I think and I have searched on Google but it didn’t find). But, that wasn’t hiking as technically since only 10 feet away, I walked off from the car that was parking line. While my friend said that Gunung Purba’s height is 700 mpdl (Indonesia uses a metric system, like centimeter, meter, kilometer, etc) or almost 3.000 feet (Google says 3.281 feet).

Pacitan. The beach is Sego beach, Pacitan, East Java on December 25th, 2021.

After that, spending my time praying up to the Lord that as wished to be given the strength and energy that I needed. I thought the Lord wanted me to try for once and I decided to go and make the participant list that was prepared.

Tomorrow, I woke up at 4.30 am and packed up, then had breakfast with a nasi telur/a bowl of egg rice at Burjo Warmindo, nearby to UGM. And, arrived early at the house before starting the hike. I and my best friend played American football and we also learned about how to throw and catch an American football ball. He was curious about football so I taught him to learn about American football basic things. He got satisfied to play football for the first time and I was super glad to him. I invited him to watch the Super Bowl as the Final NFL between the Los Angeles Rams won the second Super Bowl wins in all-franchise history to the Cincinnati Bengals, 23–20 at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California.

After that, I and nine people I met were going to Gunung Purba. I checked the temperature on my cellphone. It was at 78 degrees (in Fahrenheit) and nice weather. That was good for hiking. My friend drove on a motorbike. He was good at the highest roads (might be over 300 feet), despite it taking half two hours by 15,4 miles from downtown because I went to the gas station.

Arrival safely at Gunung Purba, we started the hike from the entrance gate. I checked again the temperature was still 77 -78 degrees. The first challenge was I got the narrow lane (Gunung Purba has at least three narrow lanes). That was really narrow that I had been ever through. The next got the second narrow lane, and then at end of the third narrow lane. There were a lot of stairs and stones. We took a rest at times and I drank a bottle of water, I acted like I need water while I was hiking. I also took photos and videos and of course, I’m not good at photography. When we got to climb to achieve the top. I made it to the top, finally. That was my first hiking that was successful to make it to the top. It felt unbelievable and crazy. Just doing by I got the strength and energy that the Lord has given. I yelled at myself, “Don’t give up! You can doing it! You keep on believing yourself and the Lord!” I love nature actually since I’m a nature lover. I got it all that I had been through and my feet were strong! I won by 3.000 feet, it was the highest challenge ever!

See-slight the beautiful mountain and love to see how the nature working is. How beautiful a mountain. I love this place that I hiked. After that, we decided to come back to the exit gate. That was one of the toughest that I hiked since I got an injury on my right foot and fell due to muddy and slippery ground. But, I was okay and still struggled. My friends were friendly and always gave energy, strength, and spirit to me. I rise up and got okay.

Finally, we made it to the exit gate and took a rest before heading to Pawon Resto for had lunch. I felt blessed and grateful to have a new experience at my first hiking. It was at 78 degrees and nice weather, I was grateful that didn’t raining. The Lord I love, I had given my sacrifice to get the first hiking that I had been afraid of. Now, I love hiking and I’m not afraid of hiking. I want more hiking if I got a chance to go.

Absolutely, the people I love as being a family and community that I have that showed in supporting on all my trips at Gunung Purba. I had to be thankful and felt proud of the best people that I have. They are my family and friends. I got the culture that built up and something that never I saw before, such as how to rise up independently and always said okay afterward. The support they gave never stopped and be useful. Be grateful to have a friendly family and community.

Here’s my amazing story about hiking. I hope people who love hiking would love to read my story. Absolutely for a chance, I would go on hiking. I love hiking and it matches my nature lover. Feel free to share and tell me if you got any advice or recommendations on hiking tips, I would openly and happily accept and learn.

Thank you, everyone!
